Employment
The primary economy of Denver City is
oil and agriculture. From 1977 to 1980 Yoakum County was
the #1 oil producing county in the U.S. Approximately
seventy-five percent of the economy is accounted for
within the oilfield. Employment in the oilfield ranges
from trucking services to contract companies to the
actual oil producing companies such as Occidental
Permian, Ltd. (OXY).
Other employment in the community includes, but is not
limited to education, utilities, and health care.
